growney is..

..one of the leading providers who build simple, transparent and cost-effective investment solutions based on ETFs. Haven’t heard of the robo-advisor growney? Never mind. We’re a startup and you’re probably not part of our customer segment. But we need you, to join our team to improve our web-based platform!

What we have

Multiple marketing websites, which make use of Forestry in combination with Hugo hosted by AWS.
Our web app is using AngularJS as front-end and PHP Yii as back-end framework.
All websites are designed mobile first and should behave responsible/adaptive.
Our test setting works like this: “Hey Jonas, this and that is done.” Then Jonas tests every relevant case, that he can think of and repeats that in some important environments. All bugs are gone by then! Do you believe it?

You are not hooked by this tech stack and you think our testing is 🤦? Totally understandable. Becoming progressive, getting rid of PHP and automate our testing is our declared goal. Which path we want to go with our new web app and which testing tools we want to use is not decided at all yet. Your crisp knowledge in modern testing technologies is more than welcome!

Your profile

You are a bug hunter, a real destroyer of UI’s and back-end dev’s biggest enemy. Any software is not nearly stable until you say so. Every button needs to be clicked and your lifted eyebrow scares the s*** out of us.

Besides the elements that our users face, you dive deep into the rabbit hole and find that one case that nobody thought of before. And ten version steps later your testing scripts will tell the dev, that his “so called feature” tears a giant gap in the past achievements.

You have knowledge of..

Html5 + CSS3
at least shallow OOP skills in any language.
modern server-side JavaScript ecosystem with Node.js.
API services like REST.
one relational database management system like MySQL/PostgreSQL.

Do you see yourself? Then you are very welcome.

A computer science background is considered a plus.
Usability is your middle name.
Excellent English communication skills, verbally and written (German not required).
Comfortable with agile programming methodologies – We do scrum.
